You can see several nice pictures of the beach at Lake Ontario in my post here at the urban_nature community
After the official union business, I wanted to see Lake Ontario and our Ag&Market council president (I am the council secretary; all councilmembers are stewards) wanted to show off his new Lexus. He recently broke up with his longtime girlfriend, and said he got a new car so he could have a chick magnet. I told him then he should have gotten a Mustang. He said he wanted an older chick. Anyway, we rounded up JoAnn, the wonderful council treasurer, for a quick drive to the lake. We took a couple of pictures of each other.

We were standing on the same section of boardwalk in both pictures; the lake was to the north and the park greenery was to the south.
After that we went to a place called something like the Dinosaur Barbecue that I heard raves over but which did not impress me. I did not eat any meat there, so maybe the meat is the only good thing. All the vegetable sides tasted like salt and pepper and not much else. The specialty martini I tried was supposedly made mainly of vanilla vodka and pineapple, but tasted like artificial coconut. The bathroom was covered in graffiti, but I think it was stylized, with none at all done by customers, as I couldn't find any profanity.

We then had our department meeting in the assigned Hyatt meeting room, and I changed my clothes for the 60's-themed dance in the Clarion ballroom; it's where I took the night skyline pictures. I had a drink and danced a couple of dances with Ron until he said I won and he was too tired; I didn't feel like hanging out with him and meeting all his union buddies, so I went up to my room around 10:30 and did a pile of NY Times and NY Sun crosswords. JoAnn was supposed to have joined us, but never did; she ran into some women she knew from the Albany office who were going to a party in the union president's suite, and she ended up staying at the party with them until almost midnight.
Tuesday there was official union business, and then I did a puzzling walking tour with JoAnn and had dinner with her afterward at Tapas 157, where the food and drinks were pricy but delicious. I'll explain about and post pictures from the walking tour next time, which I hope will be tomorrow.
